PUBLIC WORKSHOP, FIRST TWO PUBLIC HEARINGS SCHEDULED FOR LAX MASTER PLAN FINAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT

(Los Angeles, California -- May 7, 2004) A public workshop and the first two of at least six public hearings on the Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR) and the Final Master Plan (Alternative D) for Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) have been scheduled.

A public workshop on the FEIR will be held Monday, May 10, 2004, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Proud Bird Restaurant Grand Ballroom, 11022 Aviation Boulevard, adjacent to the airport.

FINAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT RELEASED FOR LAX MASTER PLAN
(Los Angeles, California -- April 28, 2004) Mayor Jim Hahn and Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) today released the Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR) for the modernization of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The Enhanced Safety and Security Plan Alternative D -- the first comprehensive long-range plan in nearly a half-century for improving LAX -- is now ready to begin an extensive approvals process that will come before the City Council for final approval by the end of the summer.

LAX MASTER PLAN PROCESS: OVERVIEW OF THE LOS ANGELES CITY PROCESS

(Los Angeles, California -- April 28, 2004) The LAX Master Plan Program will proceed through an extensive approval process. The LAXMaster Plan Program requires City approval of a number of important documents.

The Environmental Impact Report (EIR) includes the documentation necessary under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and required for City and County decisionmakers to use in assessing the various environmental impacts of this project.

CRIME AT LAX DROPS FOR THIRD CONSECUTIVE YEAR

(Los Angeles, California – April 26, 2004) Law enforcement officials at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) report that crime dropped 14 percent last year -- the third consecutive year of declining crime. Nearly every main classification of crimes against persons and property at LAX decreased last year, while the airport handled an estimated total of 127 million passengers, visitors and employees (an average 344,000 people daily).

FULL-SCALE EMERGENCY RESPONSE IN AIRPORT DRILL
(Los Angeles, California – April 19, 2004) A full-scale, unrehearsed simulated aircraft incident, AIREX 2004, will be conducted Tuesday, April 20 at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to test the operational capability of the airport's emergency management system in a real-time stress environment, in which personnel, equipment and material are mobilized and deployed.

: Air Exercise (AIREX) 2004is an unrehearsed, full-scale aircraft incident drill designed to test Los Angeles International Airport's (LAX) Emergency Plan. This exercise is required under FAA regulations to be conducted at least once every three years to evaluate the operational capability of the airport's emergency management system in a real-time, stress environment, in which personnel, equipment and materiel are mobilized and deployed.

LOS ANGELES AIRPORT TO HAVE NATION'S FIRST COMMERCIAL COMPRESSED HYDROGEN FUELING DEMONSTRATION STATION
(Los Angeles, CA – April 5, 2004) The nation's first compressed-hydrogen fueling station for public use will be built at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) as the result of a lease approved today by the Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners. The lease calls for Praxair, Inc. of Danbury, Conn., to design, engineer, equip, construct and operate a 600-square-foot facility that will be a prototype of a commercial automobile fueling station.

(Ontario, California – April 1, 2004) Ontario International Airport (ONT) today announced the launch of the popular internet flight-tracking system for airport websites, PASSUR™ AirportMonitor™, providing residents of neighboring communities concerned about aircraft noise with information on planes landing and taking off at ONT.

The AirportMonitor program, originally designed for Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) by Greenwich, Connecticut-based Megadata Corporation, was launched on the airport's website at www.lawa.org (click on Noise Management on the ONT page) on March 22nd

LANE CLOSURES, TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS THROUGH SEPULUVEDA BOULEVARD TUNNEL AT LAX MARCH 29-31

SPANISH VERSION OF GUIDE FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES IS AVAILABLE FROM LAX

(Los Angeles, CA. – March 11, 2004) Building on its commitment to continually improve the passenger experience, LAX has produced a Spanish version of the brochure entitled “A Guide for Individuals with Disabilities.”

Now Spanish-speaking individuals with disabilities or the elderly can easily navigate their way through LAX. The free brochure is available upon request.

PRINT-MAKING EXHIBIT OPENS AT LOS ANGELES AIRPORT
