CONTRACT AWARDED FOR RESIDENTIAL SOUNDPROOFING NEAR LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
(Los Angeles, California -- October 4, 2004) The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today awarded Karabuild Development and Construction a contract for residential soundproofing near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The contract, totaling $1,557,600, will cover sound-insulation modifications on a total of 55 single and multi-family residences located within the noise-impacted area of Council District 8.

LOS ANGELES AND ONTARIO AIRPORTS MAINTAIN UPWARD TREND IN PASSENGER AND CARGO VOLUMES DURING AUGUST

(Los Angeles, California – September 30, 2004) Passenger traffic climbed strongly in August at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and continued its double-digit ascent for year to date.

Total passenger volume increased 8 percent to 5,856,154 passengers for the month, airport officials reported. International passengers increased 9 percent in August, compared with the same month last year.

LOS ANGELES BOARD OF AIRPORT COMMISSIONERS ELECTS OFFICERS

(Los Angeles, CA - September 7, 2004) The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners (BOAC) today elected Cheryl K. Petersen as its president and W. Jerome Stanley as vice president.

Petersen, who has served on the commission since September 2000, most recently was BOAC vice president.

OPERATIONS RETURNING TO NORMAL AT LAX FOLLOWING TWO INCIDENTS
(Los Angeles, California, September 4, 2004) -- Los Angeles International Airport returned to normal Saturday after two unrelated incidents resulted in four of the nine passenger terminals being closed and vehicle traffic restricted for about three hours. Neither incident was terrorism-related.
