LOS ANGELES AIRPORT POLICE SWEARS IN NINE NEW LEADERS: TWO CAPTAINS, TWO LIEUTENANTS AND FIVE SERGEANTS
Two Los Angeles Airport Police lieutenants, Tyrone Stallings and Carolyn Smith; two sergeants, Joaquin Mendez and Fernando Castro; and five officers, Loretta Jones, John Hernandez, Jose Lozano, Harvey Coleman and John Lopez will be sworn in as new captains, lieutenants and sergeants, respectively, on Tuesday, June 1.

The recently completed $737-million Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) Renovation Project has received two prestigious awards from construction and engineering professional associations. The Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International (AACE) recognized the TBIT Project Management Team for “Project Controls – Project of the Year” and the Associated General Contractors (AGC) 2010 Constructor Award for “Meeting the Challenge of the Difficult Job - Builder Classification.”

(Los Angeles, California – May 24, 2010) A one-million-plus pound QANTAS Airbus A-380 super jumbo jet today became the first aircraft to travel on the just-completed $88-million, 3,437-feet Crossfield Taxiway (new Taxiway R) at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). After arriving from Sidney, Australia and taxiing to its gate at the Tom Bradley International Terminal, the aircraft was greeted with a water cannon salute by two fire trucks.
