LOS ANGELES INTERNATIOAL AIRPORT CLOSES IN ON GOAL OF 70 PERCENT SOLID WASTE DIVERSION BY 2015
    (Los Angeles, California – October 26, 2009)  More than 66.5 percent of the solid waste collected at Los AngelesInternationalAirport (LAX) was diverted from landfills in 2008, moving the airport within a breath of its goal of 70 percent waste diversion by 2015.

BUS OPERATOR SELECTED FOR LAX FLYAWAY NONSTOP BUS SERVICE TO IRVINE FARES, SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED FOR SERVICE TO START NOVEMBER 16
     ( Los Angeles, California – October 19, 2009)  The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today approved a three-year operating agreement with CUSA CC, LLC (doing business as Coach America Los Angeles) to operate the FlyAway® nonstop bus service from Irvine Station in OrangeCounty to Los AngelesInternationalAirport (LAX).  The new service is designed to make travel to and from LAX more convenient, direct and affordable for OrangeCounty residents and visitors.

CONTRACTS TOTALING $1.26 BILLION APPROVED FOR BRADLEY WEST PROJECT
  (Los Angeles, California – October 19, 2009)  The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today took a significant step towards the modernization of Los AngelesInternationalAirport (LAX) by awarding two contracts totaling $1.26 billion to reconfigure the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT).  The Bradley West Project, as it is known, is considered to be the biggest public works project in the City’s history and is expected to create 4,000 construction-related jobs during the four-year project schedule.

PARTIAL CLOSURE OF WESTBOUND IMPERIAL HIGHWAY NEAR LAX ANNOUNCED OCTOBER 17 TO 21
The California Film Commission and the California Department of Transportation have notified Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) operations of intermittent road closures on westbound Imperial Highway beginning Saturday, October 17, 2009.  The road closures will extend until Wednesday, October 21.

conducted today at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) resulted in two commercial ground transportation vehicles removed from service and 71 citations issued to drivers for administrative and mechanical violations.

AIRPORT POLICE-GTEU MULTI AGENCY OPERATION-ADVISORY
MULTI-AGENCY LAW ENFORCEMENT ACTION AT LOS ANGELES AIRPORT ENHANCES PUBLIC SAFETY FOR USERS OF GROUND TRANSPORTATION

WHAT:    
Multi-agency inspection operation is currently underway at LAX with  unannounced inspections of commercial ground transportation vehicles (limousines, taxis, vans, etc.) Inspections of commercial vehicles include both mechanical and administrative processes.  
Los Angeles Airport Police Ground Transportation Enforcement Unit, California Public
Utilities Commission, Los Angeles Department of Transportation, 
Employment Development Department (EDD) and Los Angeles World 
Airports Landside Operations are concentrating on proper licensing (PUC 
permits and valid drivers licenses), airport operating permits, and other 
law enforcement related issues.  Enforcement units are also concentrating 
on braking systems, passenger restraints and other safety systems required 
to be in good working order.

      (Los Angeles, California – October 5, 2009)  The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today approved a three-year license agreement with the City of Irvine permitting the FlyAway® bus service to operate nonstop from Irvine Station in OrangeCounty to Los AngelesInternationalAirport (LAX).  The action moves the FlyAway® closer to starting daily service in time for the holiday travel season.

LOS ANGELES WORLD AIRPORTS, UNITED AIRLINES REACH SETTLEMENT ON LEASE FOR TERMINALS 7 AND 8 AT LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
  (Los Angeles, California – October 5, 2009)  The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today approved a Global Settlement Agreement and Release among Los Angeles World Airports; United Airlines, Inc.; and UMB Bank, N.A., as successor indenture trustee; with regard to $59.3 million in outstanding principal for bonds that were issued to finance construction at Terminals 7 and 8 at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in connection with the 1984 Olympics.
