- - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - - LAX’S SOUTHBOUND SEPULVEDA BOULEVARD EXITS TO CLOSE TEMPORARILY FOR REPAIRS
(Los Angeles, California – January 10, 2011) Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) today announced the temporary closure of ramp exits to southbound Sepulveda Blvd. on both the Upper Departures and Lower Arrivals Levels.  The closures will take effect during the evenings of January 11, 12 and 13 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

AIRPORT COMMISSIONERS APPROVE CONTRACT FOR RESIDENTIAL SOUND INSULATION

LAX SEEKS PERMISSION FROM FAA TO USE PASSENGER FACILITY FEES TO HELP FUND LENNOX SCHOOL DISTRICT SOUNDPROOFING PROGRAM
(Los Angeles, California – January 10, 2011)  The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today authorized Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) to file an application with the federal government to use Passenger Facility Charge (PFC) funds generated by operations at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to soundproof schools in the nearby Lennox School District.

LOS ANGELES BOARD OF AIRPORT COMMISSIONERS ELECTS NEW PRESIDENT

Airport Commissioners (BOAC) today elected attorney Michael A. Lawson as its president for term ending June 30, 2011.  Lawson has served on the Board for more than five years.  He  heads the Employee Benefits Group at the Los Angeles office of Skadden Arps LLP, where he works on all facets of employee compensation issues.

LOS ANGELES WORLD AIRPORTS SEEKS EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR MANAGEMENT, OPERATION OF LA/ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

NEW LAX TERMINAL ART EXHIBIT WELCOMES PASSENGERS TO LOS ANGELES

LAX TRAVEL ADVISORY DUE TO EXPECTED HEAVY STORM CONDITIONS
Due to expected heavy storm conditions over Southern California the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 22 -- as well as winter weather conditions across the nation -- officials at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) advise passengers to check with their airlines (by phone or by visiting the airlines' websites) to ensure their flights are on time before coming to the airport.  Passengers should also allow extra time for expected slower traffic conditions on local freeways and roads.

HOLIDAY PASSENGER LEVEL AT LAX EXPECTED TO INCREASE 1.3 PERCENT TO NEARLY 3 MILLION
Passenger volume at Los AngelesInternationalAirport (LAX) is expected to increase over 1.3 percent this upcoming holiday travel period to nearly 2.9 million passengers compared to last year’s holiday.  The holiday travel period begins this Friday, Dec. 17, and continues through Sunday, January 2.
