IBERIA LAUNCHES LAX-MADRID SERVICE; NEW FLIGHTS TO GENERATE ECONOMIC GROWTH FOR SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
(Los Angeles, California – March 28, 2011) Iberia launched nonstop service today from Los AngelesInternationalAirport (LAX) to Madrid-Barajas International Airport (MAD) in Madrid, Spain.  The flights are scheduled to depart three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, making Los Angeles the only nonstop service from Spain to the U.S. West Coast.

LAX GATEWAY PYLONS TO GO DARK IN SUPPORT OF INTERNATIONAL EARTH HOUR, SATURDAY, MARCH 26

(Los Angeles, California – March 21, 2011) - The 100-foot-tall LAX Gateway pylons that illuminate the entrance to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), will light solid green one hour before Earth Hour on Saturday, March 26.  Then, during Earth Hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m., the pylons will be turned off as part of a coordinated worldwide effort to raise public awareness of climate change and the need for energy conservation.

CREWS OF CALIFORNIA RAISES $30,000 AT LAX AIRPORT TO HELP UNITED WAY OF GREATER LOS ANGELES FIGHT POVERTY
Crews of California, a retailer and food-and- beverage provider at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), donated $30,000 to United Way of Greater Los Angeles’ Creating Pathways Out of Poverty fund.  The company presented United Way with a check today at its Terminal 1 retail location.  Los Angeles City Councilmember Bill Rosendahl and executives from United Way and the airport attended the presentation.

FINAL UPDATE ON 3/12/2011 AT 5:00 A.M. PST: FLIGHT STATUS ON FLIGHTS TO AND FROM TOKYO

Most flights between LAX and Tokyo/Narita or Tokyo/Haneda airports are resuming today.  Airport officials anticipate remaining airlines will return to normal operations on Sunday.  Passengers to Japan are advised to check with their airlines (websites or reservations phone) on the status of their flights.  This is the FINAL update.  Following is today's flight schedule:

UPDATED 3/11/11 AT 7 PM PST: LAX FLIGHT STATUS DUE TO JAPAN EARTHQUAKE
Two airlines at LAX report they plan to resume operations to and from Tokyo tomorrow, Saturday, March 12.  Information about other flights is not expected until later tonight.  Currently, there are no reports of stranded passengers in the terminals.

TURKISH AIRLINES OFFICIALLY LAUNCHES FOURTH U.S. GATEWAY WITH NONSTOP FLIGHTS FROM LOS ANGELES TO ISTANBUL

(Los Angeles, California – March 3, 2011)  – Today Turkish Airlines launched the first nonstop flight from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Atatürk Airport in Istanbul. The flights are scheduled to depart four times per week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday) aboard the brand-new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

LAWA RECEIVES TEN RESPONSES TO EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR MANAGEMENT OF LA/ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
 Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) officials announced today they received 10 inquiries to a recent solicitation for Expressions of Interest for the possible management of LA/Ontario International Airport (ONT).  The responses represent both domestic and international firms, indicating a strong interest in the future of the airport.
