UPDATED CERTIFIED SERVICE PROVIDER PROGRAM ADOPTED TO ENSURE QUALITY STANDARDS AND IMPROVE CUSTOMER SERVICE
Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today adopted a significantly improved Certified Service Provider Program (CSPP) that establishes minimum requirements for companies that provide certain services to airlines, airline consortiums, or other aviation tenants at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

DFS GROUP AWARDED 10-YEAR CONTRACT FOR DUTY FREE CONCESSIONS AT LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today approved a Duty Free Merchandise Concession Agreement with DFS Group L.P. to develop and operate duty-free and duty-paid merchandise concessions in all passenger terminals at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) for a period of 10 years with three additional one-year options. The agreement is forecast to produce revenue to Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) of over $100 million for the first fully developed year, and an average of over $150 million annually over the initial 10-year term. DFS will be required to invest no less than $25 million in initial improvements and $17 million in mid-term refurbishment improvements.

LAX CRIME TASK FORCE ARRESTS COMMERCIAL BURGLARY SUSPECT
(Los Angeles, California – August 3, 2012) Los Angeles Airport Police and Los Angeles Police Department Joint Crime Task Force (LAX-CTF) arrested a burglary suspect for stealing luggage at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), after they received a tip and established a surveillance team in the airport parking structures.

LOS ANGELES WORLD AIRPORTS RELEASES DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT FOR LAX SPECIFIC PLAN AMENDMENT STUDY; PUBLIC MEETINGS SCHEDULED
Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) released today the Draft Environmental Impact Report (Draft EIR) for the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) Specific Plan Amendment Study (SPAS) and the SPAS Report. Three public meetings are scheduled to provide interested parties the opportunity to review and comment on the Draft EIR. Public comments on the SPAS Draft EIR may be submitted during a 75-day period that ends Wednesday, October 10, 2012.

The center and south entrances will remain accessible to the public. This marks the beginning of the LAX Central Terminal Curb Appeal Improvement Project, which will be performed in phases.

SOUTHWEST AIRLINES ADDS NEW ROUTE AT LA/ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

ART SPRINGS FROM RECYCLED AND RECLAIMED MATERIALS

AIRPORT POLICE MULTI-AGENCY LAW ENFORCEMENT OPERATION AT LAX ENHANCES PUBLIC SAFETY FOR USERS OF GROUND TRANSPORTATION
A multi-agency law enforcement operation conducted today at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) resulted in 26 commercial ground transportation vehicles removed from service, 71 citations issued to drivers for administrative and mechanical violations, and one vehicle impound.
