Update #3/FINAL at 8:30 p.m.:
After completing an assessment of flight operations of the nearly 60 passenger airlines at LAX, LAX Airport Operations reports the following impacts resulting from today’s ground stop through midnight tonight:
1. ARRIVING FLIGHTS TO LAX: A total of 27 cancellations, 212 delays, and 27 diversions to other airports
2. DEPARTING FLIGHTS FROM LAX: A total of 23 cancellations (primarily due to aircraft were unavailable with cancelled arrival flights) and 216 delays.
3. No international arriving or departing flights were cancelled.
4. The number of passengers on the 50 total arriving and departing cancelledflights is estimated at nearly 6,800.
5. The number of passengers on the 455 total arriving and departing delayedflights is estimated in the tens of thousands.
6. Departure operations are expected to return to normal by 11 p.m.
7. Arrival operations are expected to return to normal by 12 midnight.
(Ontario, California – April 2, 2014) Volaris will begin twice-weekly service between Ontario International Airport (ONT) and Guadalajara starting April 10.
“This is very exciting since it’s the first time Volaris will serve ONT,” said ONT’s manager Jess Romo. “International travelers will have more options when flying to Mexico. We look forward to partnering with Volaris and having another international carrier at ONT.”
WHAT: The 100-foot-tall LAX Gateway pylons that illuminate the entrance to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will light solid green one hour before Earth Hour on Saturday, March 29. Then, during Earth Hour from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m., the pylons will be turned off as part of a coordinated worldwide effort to raise public awareness of the need for energy conservation.
(UPDATE: Following the service of 25 search warrants, the LAX Joint Crime Task Force detained 14 people for questioning. A total of six arrests were made, four for receiving stolen property and two for outstanding warrants.
This is an ongoing investigation and will likely result in additional arrests. Detectives will now work to link those arrested to specific theft cases, which is expected to clear many of the open theft investigations.)
The LAX Joint Crime Task Force (LAX-CTF), comprised of Los Angeles Airport Police and Los Angeles Police Department detectives, today served 25 search warrants following an ongoing investigation into property stolen from passengers’ luggage or directly from aircraft at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Numerous items were recovered during the service of search warrants and arrests.

Among the 25 graduates of Class 10-13, Class Treasurer Officer Blare Bergman and Class Secretary Officer Rafaela Faulkner, were both selected by their classmates.
