CONTRACT AWARDED FOR RESIDENTIAL SOUNDPROOFING NEAR LAX
(Los Angeles, California – January 15, 2000) The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today awarded a not-to-exceed $575,000 contract to P.B.C. of El Segundo, CA, for residential soundproofing work near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

XPRESS SHUTTLE INTRODUCES WORLD’S FIRST FLEET OF POLLUTION-FREE VEHICLES TO LAX NEW RAPID-CHARGING TECHNOLOGY MAKES NEW DOOR-TO-DOOR VAN SERVICE POSSIBLE
(Los Angeles, California – January 5, 2000) Xpress Shuttle today begins door-to-door van service at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) using state-of-the-art, zero-emission electric vehicles. Xpress will initially use 11 Daimler-Chrysler Electric Powered Interurban Commuter (EPIC) minivans and will increase the number to 50 within a year.

All media are advised that Van Nuys Airport's (VNY) Public Affairs Division now has its own telephone number.

During regular business hours, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., the news media are requested to call (818) 909-3529. After-hours and weekends, all media inquiries should be directed to Airport Police at 818) 989-1747. Airport Police will notify the appropriate spokesperson. The general administrative number for the airport remains the same: (818) 785-8838. -- LAX TRAFFIC ADVISORY FOR OCT. 11-12, 2012 -- SPACE SHUTTLE ENDEAVOUR DEPARTS LAX OCTOBER 11-12, 2012; TRAFFIC DELAYS ANTICIPATED IN COMMUNITIES SURROUNDING AIRPORT
  As the Space Shuttle Endeavour begins its two-day trek from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to the California Science Center, passengers, visitors, airport workers, and ground transportation providers driving to/from LAX are advised to plan ahead and travel alternative routes to avoid possible traffic delays due to full and intermittent street closures in communities north and northeast of LAX beginning Thursday night through Friday afternoon.  Airport officials also recommend that during this period, ALL motorists -- including those driving from areas south and east of LAX -- add extra time to their drive in anticipation of traffic delays.
