TRANSPORTATION SECURITY ADMINISTRATION DEPLOYS PASSENGER SCREENERS TO LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
(Washington, D.C. -- October 8, 2002) Acting Under Secretary of Transportation for Security Admiral James M. Loy announced the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) today deployed more than 450 federal security screeners, reflecting the diversity of the Los Angeles basin, to checkpoints in terminals seven and eight at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

LAX AIR FREIGHT TONNAGE EXCEEDS 2001 LEVELS FOR FOURTH MONTH; ONTARIO AIRPORT POSTS YEAR-TO-DATE GAINS IN JUNE, JULY, AUGUST
(Los Angeles, CA -- September 23, 2002) For the first time this year, airfreight tonnage figures reported by 77 airlines serving Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) showed year-over-year increases for four consecutive months. The reported tonnage increases were for the months of May, June, July, and August.

LAX PREDICTS NEARLY 700,000 TRAVELERS OVER LABOR DAY WEEKEND

(Los Angeles, California – August 28, 2002) A mural honoring the courageous World War II African-American fighter pilots known as the Tuskegee Airmen makes its debut at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on the Lower/Arrival Level of Terminal 3.
