LAX FLYAWAY® BUS SERVICE FOR WESTWOOD EXTENDED; FARE HIKE APPROVED
(Los Angeles, California – July 14, 2011) The City of Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners (BOAC) this week (July 11) approved a six-month license agreement with the Regents of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) for passenger pick-up and drop-off for the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) FlyAway® bus service, and increase the one-way fare from the current $5 to $10 per passenger.

LAX FLYAWAY® TO MODIFY SCHEDULES FOR VAN NUYS, WESTWOOD ROUTES DURING I-405 CLOSURE WEEKEND; LAX I-405 WEBSITE EXPANDS TRAVEL TIPS FOR PASSENGERS AND AIRPORT WORKERS
(Los Angeles, California – July 14, 2011)  The LAX FlyAway ® nonstop bus service at Van Nuys and Westwood will be modified during this weekend’s I-405 freeway closure to consolidate passengers, improve the efficiency of each bus trip, and contribute to the overall traffic-management goal of reducing the number of vehicle trips on the region’s freeways and roadways.  The FlyAway® service at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles and at Irvine Station in Orange County will operate on normal schedules (traffic permitting).

LOS ANGELES BOARD OF AIRPORT COMMISSIONERS APPROVE $40-MILLION FOR BAGGAGE SCREENING SYSTEM AT TERMINALS 7 AND 8 AT LAX

(Los Angeles, California – July 13, 2011)  Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners recently approved a $40-million Reimbursement Agreement with United Airlines, Inc., for design and construction costs associated with an inline Checked Baggage Inspection System (CBIS) Project in Terminals 7 and 8 at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

TRAFFIC ADVISORY --LADWP ANNOUNCES TEMPORARY POWER SHUTDOWN IN CENTRAL TERMINAL AREA AT LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
(Los Angeles, California -- July 11, 2011)  The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power has notified Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) that it will temporarily shut down power to part of the Central Terminal Area at LAX, on Tuesday, July 12 from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. for critical adjustments to electrical power transformers.

FOURTH OF JULY HOLIDAY PASSENGER TRAVEL EXPECTED TO INCREASE AT LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

SUMMER DANCE PERFORMANCE AT LAX FLYAWAY® BUS TERMINAL IN VAN NUYS

(Los Angeles, California – June 27, 2011)  Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) will present an evening of site-specific dance, light projection and music on Saturday, July 2, 2011, featuring an original dance performance titled Flyway Home, directed and choreographed by Sarah Elgart.  This summer performance is free to the public and will begin at 8:15 p.m. and repeated at 9:45 p.m. at the LAX FlyAway® bus terminal, 7610 Woodley Avenue in Van Nuys.

COUNTDOWN TO THE CLOSURE OF THE I-405 FREEWAY
